Responsibilities o Apprentice Plumber:

• Receives direction as to scope of work from Foreman or Lead hand
• Ensure they work under the direction of a Journeyman/Foreman to transfer knowledge and be able to complete the Certificate of Qualification.
• Responsible for drainage, waste and venting systems, fixtures and appliances
• Works with different types of piping such as black carbon or steel, plastic, glass or pyrex, copper
• Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings and specifications
• Determines layout of systems and networks
• Installs, repairs and maintains plumbing fixtures and systems
• Locates and marks position of pipe connections, holes and fixtures
• Cuts holes to accommodate pipes and fittings
• Measures, cuts, bends and threads pipes in place
• Joins pipes with couplings, clamps, screws, bolts or cement
• Solder or braze piping
• Inspect and test pipes for leaks
• Determines piping system requirements and pipe sizing
• Abides by all safety procedures and policies

The ideal Apprentice Plumber will have:

• Ideal Candidate will have a minimum of one year's experience in Plumbing Installations as a REGISTERED APPRENTICE/ Ontario College of trades Apprentice card within Commercial, Institutional or Industrial projects.
• Certificates: Working at Heights, Aerial Platforms, Confine Space or any other certifications considered an asset
• Valid Ontario's Driver's License
• Own basic hand tools and safety shoes
• Good command of the English language
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent work ethics and reliability

Salary: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
