At MIRA MIRA DINER we are looking for an experienced Assistant General Manager to join our Front of House team in running daily business operations.

We have two indoor floors (99 seats) and 3 outdoor patios (100 seats). We strive to provide a fun, electric environment for our guests and team members, but enjoy the finesse of fine-dining service elements.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include - but are not limited to the following:

  • Implement and uphold the highest service standards in all aspects of the restaurant
  • Managing staff and team building, including recruiting, interviewing, training and developing all FOH staff on an ongoing basis and supporting the Chef in managing BOH staff development
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while training, supporting and encouraging employees
  • Managing the dining room during peak service times, working on the floor and filling in wherever necessary to the flow of service
  • Hold AM and PM shift meetings with all FOH staff
  • Working closely with the Chef to coordinate and improve upon daily systems
  • Working closely with the GM and FOH staff to coordinate and improve upon daily systems
  • Assist GM to set and maintain budgets, including reporting daily sales, submitting invoices, managing labour costs through strategic scheduling
  • Participate in weekly management meetings
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization and maintenance of all property and equipment
  • Uphold all policies, procedures and service standards and hold staff accountable

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Restaurant Manager (3+ years) in high-volume fine-dining restaurants
  • Previous experience as a Assistant General Manager (1+ years) in high-volume fine-dining restaurants
  • Previous serving experience required (5+ years) in high-volume fine-dining restaurants
  • Previous corporate experience is a bonus
  • Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine and food (certification an asset)
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, while managing other staff and teaching them to do the same
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
