Leon’s Trenton is looking for a candidate who is detail oriented, displays strong organizational and problem-solving skills, works well independently and as part of a team. We are looking for a Warehouse Assistant Manager to join our team and help manage the day-to-day operations of our warehouse. Previous retail experience in the furniture and/or mattress industry or experience in warehouse operations would be greatly valued, but is not required. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations, including inventory management, shipping and receiving, and safety protocols.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to join a fast-paced and growing organization. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, your job is to support the Warehouse Manager in various tasks.

What you’ll do to be successful in this role:

Supporting the Warehouse Manager in:

  • Ensuring the smooth operation of a busy warehouse with several areas of responsibility, including: shipping and receiving, inventory, delivery, merchandising, packaging and maintenance
  • Managing the warehouse team
  • Ensuring the accurate and secure handling of product; balancing a large inventory
  • Overseeing maintenance and ensuring safe operation of lift trucks, warehouse bins, delivery trucks, service vehicles
  • Training and people development
  • Interviewing and hiring
  • Scheduling; ensuring provincial legislative requirements met
  • Completing, reviewing and distributing warehouse reports regularly
  • Resolving customer issues; ensuring safe delivery of product
  • Ensuring company policies and procedures are met
  • Ensuring general safety and security of store and employees
  • Chairing Health and Safety and warehouse meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • Excellent understanding of warehouse management procedures
  • Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Outstanding leadership, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Warehouse operations experience, an asset
  • Ability to operate Order Picker, an asset

Requirements:

  • Valid drivers' license
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Availability to work extended hours
