Job Description

Summary

The Auto Body Estimator accurately assesses automobile damage and completes a thorough template of all parts and labour required to complete the repair. This detailed estimate is distributed to vehicle owner, their insurance company, key parts suppliers, and necessary vendors. The Estimator is required to build respectful relationships with customers, insurance companies, and parts suppliers.

This position requires an attention to detail and vehicle knowledge resulting in an accurate repair estimate that will ensure optimal technician productivity and result in “keys to keys” in the shortest possible timeline. This will be accomplished through industry best practices, collegial interaction and engagement, attention to detail, and the desire to meet the highest standards and best outcomes.

Efficient repair facility process management and throughput is paramount to meet the objectives and timelines for both CARSTAR and our customers. Resource management, timely and accurate parts acquisition, and production floor planning and positioning are key to accomplishing optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities

· Completing accurate repair estimates, estimate distribution to all required parties, follow-up, and repair order uploading and filing.

· Seeking co-worker, including technician(s) input to achieve optimal accuracy and completeness of repair estimate.

· Completing and uploading any estimate supplement for unforeseen vehicle damage during initial estimating process.

· Ordering, sourcing, coordinating, tracking, updating, and securing required parts in a timely manner.

· Accurate and consistent parts management, replacement, and return(s).

· Maintaining all records and pictures for all vehicle estimates for initial approval and subsequent confirmation purposes.

· Coordination of repair scheduling, rental vehicle, parts delivery, adjuster and insurance representative communication.

· Coordination and optimization of production floor processing of all vehicle repairs and painting.

Requirements

· Previous retail automotive experience is highly preferable.

· Previous and proven success within retail automotive through a service and/or parts operation would be highly considered

· Previous work as an automotive repair adjuster would be highly considered, but not deemed essential.

· Effective communication and negotiating skills.

· Solid organizational skills and ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment.

· Solid computer skills, ability to adapt to key industry computer programs, with ample experience working with conventional business and communication programs, particularly MS Office product suite.

· Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record.

· Double vaccinated against COVID-19.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $48,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
