The Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront is looking for our next great applicant to take on the role of Bell Person. Reporting to the Director of Front Office, you are an incredibly well-organized, hard-working, and guest- focused individual who will play a critical role in our guest service experience. A Bell Person is responsible for greeting all guests in the lobby, keeping the lobby neat, safe and organized, assisting with the loading and unloading of guest’s luggage from vehicles at curbside, delivering and collecting luggage to guest rooms, as well as other items such as boxes, packages, amenities and letters. The Bell Person works in close contact with the Front Desk, Switchboard and Manager on Duty Manager on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist guests and visitors entering and leaving property with directions, information about hotel amenities, hours of operation, and local areas of interest and activities.
  • Assist guests/visitors in and out of vehicles, including loading/unloading luggage
  • Identify and explain room features to guests
  • Transport guest luggage and other items to and from guest rooms and/or designated bell area
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
  • Assist with luggage storage and retrieval in designated stage areas
  • Assist guests with the booking, retrieval and return of bikes in the hotel’s bike program
  • Follow all safety and tracking systems securing guest luggage and property
  • Assists guests with transportation such as calling for taxi, limo, or directions to transit
  • Ensure the front entrance of the hotel is kept clean and clear
  • Communicate parking procedures to guests/visitors
  • Assist all guests in accordance with hotel emergency procedures
  • Maintain a professional and courteous manner at all times
  • Actively listen and respond positively to guest questions and resolve issues promptly
  • Work collaboratively with other hotel departments
  • Protect the privacy and security of guests and coworkers
  • Perform other job duties as assigned/requested.

Education and Experience

  • Highschool diploma/G.E.D. equivalent
  • 1 year experience in the guest service or related professional area
  • Experience with Front Office systems is an asset
  • Valid BC Class 5 drivers license and clean drivers abstract required

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $18.28-$20.89 per hour
