Your opportunity
Dillon’s Environmental Sciences technical group is looking for a Biologist to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.

This position location is open at our Toronto, Oakville, Hamilton or Guelph offices. Remote or flexible work arrangements may also be considered.
Responsibilities:
What your day will look like
Technical Development (94%)
  • Completion of various field surveys to collect field data including but not limited to ecological land classification, aquatic assessments, vegetation (including tree inventories), wildlife surveys (e.g. amphibians, birds) and soil or water quality sampling.
  • Preparation of technical reports and memos related to natural heritage systems on various sites, as required.
  • Collaboration with and assistance to project managers and team members including biologists, arborists, engineers, planners, and environmental scientists.
  • Business travel upon request.
  • Participation in the Early Career Development program.

Qualifications:
What you will need to succeed
  • A diploma or certificate in a related environmental sciences field. An undergraduate degree in biology, ecology or a related environmental sciences field would be an asset.
  • Professional experience in an environmental consulting, industrial, regulatory, or academic setting would be an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Experience:
  • Experience in executing field programs as part of environmental studies.
  • Experience in executing aquatic field programs considered an asset.
  • Understanding of the application of Best Management Practices to environmental compliance and effectiveness monitoring programs.
  • Knowledge of relevant provincial and federal environmental legislation, regulations, policies, guidelines, and regulatory permitting and approval requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, report writing, critical thinking, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to project quality and project deadlines.
  • Experience in environmental consulting would be considered an asset.
