Breakdown Detailer (Parts)
Reports to the Breakdown Manager on all matters, regarding the assigned and breakdown issue. Breakdown Detailer (Parts) shall ensure to meet all schedules in a timely manner. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Architectural Technology Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
Years of Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years of breakdown experience
Working Conditions

  • Site visits required having PPE for all site work and in certain other locations;
  • At times requires driving to visit sites; and
  • Flexible to work overtime as required.
Level
  • Intermediate level position for incumbents wishing to pursue a career in any area of the Engineering Department or Project Management;
  • Detail oriented with the ability to read architectural, mechanical, structural and slab edge drawings;
  • Knowledgeable in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor & MS Excel;
  • Communication with coworkers daily by telephone, email and in person;
  • Ability to act as a mentorship to junior breakdown detailers;
  • Demonstrate State's core values and work in a team environment; and
  • Ability to release parts and material take offs.
Job Specific Duties

  • Review approved shop drawing or marked-up shop drawing prior to doing breakdown;
  • Ensure working on the current set of shop drawing and approved sample list;
  • Attend a kick-off meeting with installer to discuss if there are special requirement needed in window installation;
  • Mark all revisions on the shop drawing set used for as-builts purposes;
  • Coordinate with installer and the FM as requested;
  • Prepare sketches where required;
  • Discuss with the PM and FM if there are discrepancies between the shop drawing and site measurements;
  • Release breakdown to purchasing and plant as per schedule and procedure;
  • Advise Breakdown Manager & PM ahead of time if schedule will not be met;
  • Fill up breakdown package;
  • Review and Update windows on-hold tracker, review Windows Breakdown Email release;
  • Update teams Breakdown Tracker;
  • Issue a request material to purchasing, production and/or service for any revision, site changes or error made and update original file;
  • Run an inventory report prior to finishing the project as requested to include hoists and windows on-hold;
  • Prepare more complex break shapes, as a corner post, etc.; and
  • Update installation plans according to procedures.
