Bowerman's is a high end Cabinetry/Millwork company located in Squamish BC. We have been producing high end custom cabinetry and millwork for the Whistler to Vancouver market for over 20 years.

Job Summary

Bowerman’s is looking for a Cabinetry and Millwork Production Designer to join our team. In this position, you will be primarily responsible for the production of design drawings for our high-end custom millwork shop, the first step in creating our custom, high quality product. You will be working as part of our team and will be involved in every level of operations and communicating with the owner, clients, designers and cabinetmakers. Bowerman’s has a family, work environment, and having a positive attitude and good communication skills is a necessity.

Major Activities include;

  • Taking and recording accurate job site measurements and applying them in order to develop shop drawings on Sketch Up Pro or Mozaik
  • Assisting with initial on site meeting with Architects, Project Managers and Clients.
  • Communicating with Architects, Designers, Clients, Site Supervisors, Management and Shop Supervisor to refine drawings for approval, fabrication details, installation of projects and job progress throughout the project.
  • Researching, sourcing and ordering hardware needed for high-end domestic cabinetry production.
  • Maintaining knowledge of woodworking industry standards and incorporate into design of project.
  • Researching to determine manufacturability thorough knowledge of woodworking construction methods.
  • Ensuring that all project design documentation is up to date with in-progress changes.
  • Facilitate design, construction and job site information flow throughout the workshop.

Job Requirements

  • Post Secondary Education in Design or equivalent
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with sketching/drafting and mechanical design
  • Experience with Sketch Up Pro or Mozaik
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Ability to work with Excel and Word
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and contract specifications
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proactive in pointing out potential issues
  • Ability to work quickly and change direction as needed
  • Knowledge of cabinet making an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $26.00-$30.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
