The MLTC Technical Services Department is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the full-time, permanent position of CAD & GIS Operator/Mapping Support. The position requires annual mapping updates for housing, municipal lines and GPS locations on assets for First Nations that are associated with MLTC.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Create drawings and specifications based on equations, calculations, and written instructions provided by engineers and designers.
  • Interpret and plot surveyor’s notes.
  • Provide letters with trace details on GPS locations for First Nations.
  • Interact with engineers and designers to quickly and accurately update/correct drawings during the design process.
  • Document reproduction – co-ordinate document distribution to First Nations.
  • Update all maps for First Nation communities.
  • File incoming AutoCAD discs.
  • Update old blueprints and internet mapping.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Considerations: Combination of relevant education and approximately two (2) years relevant experience.
  • Preferred: Associated Degree in Computer Aided Drafting from an accredited post-secondary institution with two (2) years relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal/written).
  • Excellent interpersonal, time-management, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in computer software applications.
  • Work within a team setting and independently.
  • Be familiar with and understand First Nation barriers/issues/culture.
  • Ability to speak Cree/Dene is considered a valuable asset.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Travel will be required to the MLFN communities on a regular basis.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $51,071.00-$70,695.00 per year
