Job Title: Support Worker DS/DD/ABI

Wage Rate: $22.88 – 24.25 per hour (note: the above hourly rate includes negotiated rate and permanent compensation enhancement).

The Support Worker, Developmental Services, supports adults with a developmental disability with homemaking, personal care, community and personal development skills in accordance with the person’s Quality of Life Plan (QLP). The Support Worker, DS will implement established strategies under the general direction of the Manager, DS and Counsellor, DS. The Support Worker, DS ensures that the person’s services and supports promote their rights, choices, self-determination, independence and builds personal and community living skills.

The successful candidate must have the following skills/qualifications:

• Secondary school graduation and a minimum one year post-secondary certificate in Human or Health Services (Personal Support Worker or equivalent).
• Continuing education in developmental disabilities an asset.
• Current First Aid and CPR
• Valid G class driver’s license.

Ideal candidates will also have experience and abilities aligned with the key responsibilities for this position, which includes:

• Demonstrate a person centered philosophy and commitment to agency vision, mission and guiding principles;
• Experience working with adults with a developmental disability in a community based, group living or independent living environment;
• Provide effective services and supports to supported persons;
• Manage and maintain accurate client information and documentation;
• Participate in and ensure a positive team environment.

The successful candidate must be able to perform the job duties as outlined in the job description. All employees at Pathways will be responsible for a commitment to safety. Successful candidates must be available to work a minimum of four (4) shifts in every two-week pay period. Shifts range from 4-12 hours and include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
