Glenwood Radiology Spruce Grove proud to serve the Spruce Grove Community with quality diagnostic care by our experienced team. Our Spruce Grove clinic is located on the 1st floor of Westwind Plaza 200 Building just off of Yellowhead Trail and Century Road. The 1st floor features the new Westwind Health Centre which features a full-service Medical Clinic and Pharmacy.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintaining a professional presence and providing excellent patient care.
  • Assisting patients, technicians, sonographers, radiologists, and other team members with varying tasks to ensure the smooth running of the clinic, such as complete patient registrations, appointment bookings/rebooking’s, cancellations, equipment cleaning/autoclaving, cleaning patient rooms and other necessary duties.
  • Booking all Diagnostic Imaging, Breast Imaging, Bone Densitometry, and Ultrasound appointments, Pain Management, etc.
  • Completing tasks for all modalities and services diligently and accurately, which include Bookings, Re-Bookings, Appointment Reminders, Follow Ups, Requisition Intake etc.
  • Prioritizing and completing tasks according to urgency.
  • Accurate data entry into InteleRIS of patient demographics in accordance with clinic processes.
  • Answering all incoming calls and re-directs when necessary.
  • Film loan, faxing, and photocopying.
  • Requesting previous examinations and/or reports.
  • Notifying the appropriate department of patient arrival.
  • Escorting patients to appropriate examination area and provide changing instructions.
  • Ensuring Walk arounds are completed.
  • Assisting with ultrasound inventory levels. Maintaining adequate office inventory.
  • Maintaining the utmost in patient confidentiality.
  • Assisting in the orientation and training of new staff.
  • Conducting oneself in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintaining cleanliness in reception waiting room and the reception desk.
  • Ensuring all required questions are asked to determine the examination to be booked.
  • Responsible to understand all clinic processes and utilize resources (such as manuals) as required.
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma.
  • Successful completion of a Medical Office Assistant program and/or Certification is an asset.
  • Healthcare reception background an asset.
  • Knowledge of Medical terminology, NetCare and EMR.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and ability to learn new software and computer operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Developed problem solving, critical thinking, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Proven ability to work in a face paced environment with a diverse patient demographic.
  • Effective multi-tasking, time management, and organization skills with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing focused and proactive patient care.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certifications (Basic Life Support).
  • Clear Criminal & Vulnerable Sector Record Check.

Experience Requirements

  • At least 1-year experience as a Medical Office Assistant or Receptionist.
