Element has an opportunity at our Fort Saint John location for a
Chemistry Technician for testing, sample preparation and delivery/collection of samples and preparation of test reports.
Responsibilities:
- Locate and prepare internal/external sublet samples for shipping
- Arrange for delivery of all outgoing sublets, bottle orders and mail and maintain shipment records
- Ensure proper handling of potentially hazardous samples and preservatives during shipment
- Trace missing outgoing or incoming shipments
- Maintain good housekeeping at all times to ensure a clean and safe work environment
- General duties as directed by the team leader or lab manager
- Prepare the reagents, standard solution and ensure standardization of the solution used in the laboratory
- Drying & grinding soil samples (very important)
- Have a diploma / degree in chemistry
- Have the ability to work in teams under pressure and flexible to work different working hours (night / day) shifts if required or necessary
- Good English communication skills: reading, writing, speaking
