Chemistry Technician/Login Technician Job at Element Materials Technology

Element Materials Technology Fort St. John, BC

Overview:
Element has an opportunity at our Fort Saint John location for a Chemistry Technician for testing, sample preparation and delivery/collection of samples and preparation of test reports.

Responsibilities:
  • Locate and prepare internal/external sublet samples for shipping
  • Arrange for delivery of all outgoing sublets, bottle orders and mail and maintain shipment records
  • Ensure proper handling of potentially hazardous samples and preservatives during shipment
  • Trace missing outgoing or incoming shipments
  • Maintain good housekeeping at all times to ensure a clean and safe work environment
  • General duties as directed by the team leader or lab manager
  • Prepare the reagents, standard solution and ensure standardization of the solution used in the laboratory
  • Drying & grinding soil samples (very important)
Skills / Qualifications:
  • Have a diploma / degree in chemistry
  • Have the ability to work in teams under pressure and flexible to work different working hours (night / day) shifts if required or necessary
  • Good English communication skills: reading, writing, speaking
