Children's Private In-Person ESL Tutor Job at English Matters
English Matters is a small tutoring company that sends the best tutors to students' homes to help with homework. This position requires a tutor who can help public school kids IN PERSON with homework and everyday English. The location of the lessons is on Burbank Drive in North York, M2K 1P4. Preparation is modest with a Canadian Language Benchmark Student Assessment completed quarterly and sent to the office. Teachers are paid $30 an hour once a month on a one year contract. Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Teaching certificate (ESL, EFL, TESOL, etc.)
- 5+ years of experience
- Live or work within 20 minutes commute of students home
- Excellent English
- Able to commit to 1 year contract or longer
- Punctual, reliable and able to work well independently
- Ability to plan tailored lessons in advance
- Proven to go the extra mile for students in need
- Experience working with children, business people
- Having learned another language as an adult is an asset
