Connex Personnel is currently recruiting for a Civil Project Engineer (Junior or EIT) to join the engineering and project management team to support the execution of projects throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Provide technical support to the Project Manager on various projects;
• Review tender packages prepared by other consultants and contractors;
• Review shop drawings prepared by contractors and vendors;
• Prepare tender packages for contracts;
• Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs);
• Provide technical input as a design team member for projects and other technical documentation;
• Direct and supervise consultants and contractors during the completion of specific engagements;
• Review and approve reports prepared by consultants;
• Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) as required; and
• Travel to site regularly to provide technical input and field support.

PROJECT LIST: This role is primarily envisioned to support projects in Churchill Falls however depending on workload and requirements in other areas this role may also see involvement in the various projects.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Engineering Degree;
• EIT or up to 5 years of experience in construction projects;
• Excellent computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
• Ability to work in a dynamic work environment; and
• A valid driver’s license will be required as there will be some travel involved.

LOCATION: St. John’s, NL

Note: The candidate will be required to rotate in and out of Churchill Falls on a two week in/two week out rotation. Accommodations and transportation while in CF will be provided. Individual will be responsible for their own flights and meals. Working during weekends while in CF will be dependent upon status of projects and work priorities though the opportunity for overtime is not expected to be an issue. During the two weeks in St. John’s, it is expected that the candidate will work regular Monday to Friday hours. Given the transitory nature of this role a dedicated office space may not be possible in which case the individual can work from home. Computer resources will be provided. Candidate shall report to Manager of Project Execution for Transmission & Facilities (or delegate) for work assignments.
