School District No. 6 (Rocky Mountain) is now accepting internal applications for:

Clerk Typist - Library - Selkirk Secondary School
Permanent, part-time (8 hr/wk)
March 13, 2023

The Clerk Typist - Library is involved in manual, clerical and technology based work in support of maintaining and caring for records and materials in the Library in collaboration with the Teacher-Librarian. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Principal.

Examples of Work
1. Achieve minimum 60 words per minute keyboarding skill.
2. Maintain automated information systems and may help maintain the school online presence.
3. Perform clerical work relating to library operations.
4. Maintain library materials.
5. Provide occasional student supervision in the absence of the supervisor.
6. Specific tasks will vary depending on the location.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
1. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent) and library related software packages.
2. Keyboarding skills of 60 words per minute or proof of competency in keyboarding skills. 3. Experience with current office equipment and be able to keep pace with technological changes.
4. Knowledge of Business English, punctuation, spelling and Business math.
5. Training and/or experience in office procedures.
6. Ability to use discretion when dealing with confidential matters.
7. Ability to work well with students, parents, school staff and other district personnel.
8. Perform office duties as assigned.

Required Training, Experience and Certification
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

Rate of Pay
As per the Collective Agreement 440
