As the Analytics Consultant for Claims you will support the development of a robust claims’ analytics infrastructure. Your main business partners will include: Client Engagement, Change Management and Learning. You will offer business and technical leadership to the team in the delivery of descriptive analytics.


How you will create impact:

  • Utilizes descriptive analytics to uncover insights, identify data issues, recognize impacts and propose data solutions.

  • Analyze, define and deliver the appropriate approach to descriptive analytics to tell the Claims “story” from data-based observations, which includes both operational aspect (actual trends and issues) and strategic aspect (progression towards strategic goals). Partner with the various disciplines to gain insights from data and support our strategic decision making.

  • Lead the design of claims monitoring tools including effective dashboard design. Partner on the design of dashboard and tool mockups for effective claims portfolio management. Partner for documentation of detailed business requirements.

  • Prioritizes work according to what is most critical or time-sensitive. Consistently able to modify own planned actions to achieve desired results.

  • Foresees, understands and interprets the needs of partner business units (Claims organization and other areas) and creates innovative solutions to meet the complex needs of our clients.

To join our team:

  • You have demonstrated an interest in learning about human behavior and society using quantitative tools: a degree in a social science field an asset.

  • You have four (4) years of experience in an insurance analytics role.

  • You have a degree in a quantitative analysis field (e.g. actuarial science, econometrics, statistics) or a post-graduate degree in a field where you have demonstrated mastery of quantitative analysis tools.

  • You have excellent analytical skills, including demonstrated experience appropriately evaluating and resolving complex problems.

  • You have demonstrated a desire, willingness and aptitude for continued autonomous learning.
