GFL Environmental is looking for a Class 1 or 3 driver to join our growing team out of our Slave Lake operations. As a GFL Truck Driver, you are responsible for the hauling of customer waste from industrial, commercial, and institutional sites. The driver is responsible for performing assigned duties on container delivery and hauling of industrial roll-off routes. This physically strenuous position involves mounting and dismounting a 10 ton vehicle numerous times each day.
Key Responsibilities:
Satisfy customer needs for service. Ensure that service is completed in accordance with established policies
Responsible for daily pre and post trip inspections and log book completion
Complete an assigned daily route in a timely and safe manner as directed by the Operations Manager or his/her designate
Perform driver check-ins at days end to ensure complete and accurate paperwork completion
Ensure that all protocols are followed while dumping loads at municipal facilities
Ensure assigned routes are completed in a timely and safe manner
Attend regular safety meetings and tailboard meetings, and comply with all of GFL’s safe driving procedures and policies
Required to tarp loads
Required to be able to lift the Roll-Off hook and attach it to the bin, requires bending and ability to lift 25-50 pounds
Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager or his/her designate
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
Responsible individual with positive attitude and sense of pride
Customer service focused
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – Class 3 with air endorsement preference for Class 1 that can tow pup trailer
Able to operate manual transmission
Clean driver’s abstract
1-2 years of Class 3 driving experience (newly licensed drivers welcome to apply)
Complete an assigned daily route as assigned
Moderate to light physical activity while on job
Self-starter with strong work ethic and attention to detail
Proven ability to multi-task & ability to prioritize tasks
Work experience in the waste, recycling or environmental services industries is recommended but not necessary
Able to work outside in all weather conditions
