Day Break Industries is currently seeking motivated and experienced individuals to join our team as a Truck Driver. As a Truck Driver you will be responsible for the safe operation of a class 1 trucks within the BC/Alberta regions.

What we do

• Lowbed Trucks - 6 to 9 axles
• Log Trucks - Short and Long logs
• Gravel Trucks
• Step decks and Super B within BC and AB
• All Kenworth trucks, 2019 and newer
• The location of the work is flexible but most work is in the Kelowna, Merritt, Kamloops and Vernon areas

The Role

• Driving for long hours under varying weather, site, terrain and road conditions safely.
• Preform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor/trailers and when stopped enroute including fueling and washing truck
• Physically fit with excellent mental focus
• Able to properly secure loads
• Install tire chains in winter conditions when required
• Speak clearly and concisely when using a radio and communicate with various people throughout the day
• The ability to load and unload equipment would be an asset.
• Manage hours of work using an electronic driver’s log

The Candidate

• Must Hold Class One Driver’s License with an air brakes endorsement
• Must be able to provide a Class One Drivers’ License, certifications/licenses and a drivers abstract
• Available to work 50 to 70 hours per week, with regular overtime opportunities.
• Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot
• Positive attitude and a self-starter
• Able to work in an environment that may include exposure to weather, dust, chemicals, moving mechanical parts, and noise.
