Opportunity

PCRS is seeking an energetic and engaging Client Services Navigator to complement the team at the WorkBC Centre. This position is often the first point of contact and is responsible for assisting participants in completing applications for WorkBC services either online or in-person and assisting in the completion of the Employment Readiness Information Questionnaire. Through this process, the Client Services Navigator will determine services eligibility and conduct financial needs assessments. The Client Services Navigator will orient participants to the center, provide accurate information regarding the WorkBC services, administer some financial supports, and provide current community resources and support to those participants conducting independent job search utilizing the resource room.

Responsibilities

The Client Services Navigator will maintain the resource room with up-to-date information and ensure its cleanliness and order. It is imperative that the Client Services Navigator demonstrates the ability to support a diverse population and takes the initiative to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for participants and staff. Furthermore, the navigator is required to make the follow-up calls for the clients in the job sustainment at 4, 24 and 52 weeks and request employment details including pay stubs from the clients.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 minimum. Certification and experience in employment services such as Career Development.
  • Effective customer service skills, in-person & virtually, including confidentiality, communication, & de-escalation.
  • Working with and supporting individuals with complex barriers and a broad range of cultural backgrounds.
  • Solid comprehension of career development and labor market needs and trends.

An equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.

Additional Assets

Criminal record check including the vulnerable sector.

  • Proof of being fully Vaccinated for Covid 19
  • Knowledge of the local labor market and trends.
  • MS Office and overall computer proficiency including data administration utilizing complex databases, specifically the Integrated Case Management (ICM) system.
  • Mental health first aid certification.
  • De-Escalation/Non-Violent Intervention training.
  • Occupational First Aid – Level 1.
  • Motivational interviewing techniques.
