Job Summary

Within the Child Care Division, the Child Care Benefit and Operating Funding Branch is responsible for delivering two of the ministry’s provincial-level child care programs and services: the Affordable Child Care Benefit and the Child Care Operating Funding Program including the Child Care Fee Reduction and Early Childhood Educator Wage Enhancement.

The Affordable Child Care Benefit assists eligible families by administering a monthly payment to help offset the cost of child care.

Child Care Operating Funding assists with the day-to-day costs of running a licensed child care facility, helping child care providers keep parent fees affordable, providing fair salaries to child care staff, and maintaining quality child care in communities across British Columbia.

From the moment you start with us, we will provide you with support and training until you are able to adjudicate files on your own. From there, your day will consist of receiving your assignment in the morning and working independently throughout the day with the current possibility of doing it virtually or from within an office.



Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One (1) year or more of experience in a front-line customer service environment.
  • Experience working with computer-based software and programs (MS Office Suite, etc.)
  • Experience providing clear, concise, verbal and written communication.
  • Experience reviewing information and using resources to make independent decisions.


Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Experience making decisions within established corporate guidelines, legislation or policy.
