Job Requirements
- Provide tailored care to residents, including personal care, activities of daily living, laundry, light housekeeping, assistance with meal prep, assistance with recreational activities and leisure activities as per individual care plans.
- Assist clients with transfers, execute ostomy care and G tube maintenance
- Provide Medication Assistance Program requirements as per resident care plan
- Report changes in resident conditions as well as any other pertinent information (maintenance issues, concerns) in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate flexibility by being willing to change routine to accommodate needs of the resident.
- Attending appointments using client and/or personal vehicle
- Helping with personal care routines such as basic hygiene routines, including dressing, bathing and grooming
- Medication administration
- Completing documentation that is consistent with Rocky View Private Health Care policies and procedures
Skills and Experience
- High level of communication and observation skills
- Be caring and compassionate, with a passion to help others
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft computer programs, preferably Microsoft Teams
- HCA certificate plus GED or Grade 12 English equivalency
- Availability to work Days, Evenings and Nights
- A satisfactory Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Check issued in the past year is required
- Current class 5 Drivers License is required
- Personal Liability insurance is required
- Food Safe certificate is preferred
- Working knowledge of assistive aids is required
- Recent experience working with elderly or disabled persons, preferably in a supportive living environment. Palliative Care training/experience is an asset
