COMMUNITY REHABILITATION ASSISTANT, temporaty 0.6FTE (May 2023- Nov 2024)
A highly motivated, caring, and skilled individual is needed to provide support for adults with acquired brain injury to participate in therapeutic recreational activities in a community-based rehabilitation program and clinical setting.
Responsibilities:
· As a team member of the Community Integration Program (CIP), facilitate recreation therapy programming in a group and one-to-one setting
· Provide support for adults with acquired brain injury to participate in leisure activities at ARBI and in the community
· Provide ongoing supervision and support for clients and volunteers
· Work closely with a client-centered, multi-disciplinary team under the direction of a Recreation Therapist
· Communicate closely with families/guardians and residential staff regarding client related needs and/or concerns
· Administrative duties that support the Community Integration Program
Qualifications:
· Therapeutic Recreation or Therapy Assistant diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution strongly preferred. Consideration may be given to applications with equivalent education and/or experience
· Experience in a rehabilitation environment and/or with the brain injury population
· Emergency First Aid or CPR
· Vehicle is required and a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
