MACL is an organization in Mission that provides quality support to a variety of programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities, and have been doing so proudly since 1958. What kind of work will I be doing? MACL is currently looking to hire Part Time and Casual Employees to work in our community inclusion programs and staffed homes . All of our program sites are in the Mission, BC area. We are looking for energetic creative individuals committed to providing engaging support to individuals with diverse abilities and assist them to live their best lives.

We are a commutable distance from: Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Maple Ridge and other local Fraser Valley and Tri-city communities.

Here are some of the QUALIFICATIONS needed for hiring at MACL:

  • Must have both Covid-19 vaccinations
  • Vulnerable Sector and Background clearance checks
  • Experience in the Community Living, Social Service, health care sector is preferred but not a must. Experience caring for a dependent child, adult, or family member, is an asset.
  • Valid First Aid certificate
  • Physician’s report indicating good physical and mental health, free of communicable diseases
  • Tuberculosis risk management program
  • Food Safe (Level 1) certification
  • Class 5 drivers license. Restricted Class 4 Driver’s License for multiple program positions
  • Computer competency

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in the community
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work within a team
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to provide health supports, including personal care
  • Demonstrated ability to support individual(s) with high activity levels and lifestyles
  • Demonstrated ability to establish communication with individual(s) being served; sign language skills an asset .
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate opportunities for development of personal relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement Individualized Service Plans, with family involvement, including Behavior Support Plans/Safety Plans, as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a safe and healthy physical environment
  • Commitment/practice in Professional Ethics
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the standards outlined by our Funders (CLBC & MCFD) and MACL policies

Compensation/Benefits:

· Starting wage: $21.63-$25.19 per hour
