Construction Laborer Job at Fort Glass

Our wages are competitive and will be based on experience.
General hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00AM – 4:30PM with occasional options for overtime. This is a full time, year around position.

- Shop Fabrication
Fort Glass has been in business since 1975, we are dedicated to providing quality customer service and products to the Kingston and surrounding areas.
GENERAL DUTY
- Architectural glass and metals in various settings.
- Install, repair and service aluminum doors, sliding doors, grill doors, tempered glass showers, balanced doors, and tempered glass doors. Install and repair lock assemblies.
- Install and service hydraulic door closers. Install and replace silicone and polyurethane sealant joints on glass, aluminum, concrete and stone substrates.
- Install heavy or very large lites of glass.
- Custom mirror fabrication and installation.
- Replace glass in furniture, showcases and other products.
- Maintain and protect assigned personal power tools and safety equipment from damage or theft.
- Maintain parts inventory as required. Ensure assigned vehicle has the standard tools and equipment Perform routine vehicle check, fill out reports and keep assigned service vehicle clean.
- Perform all assigned tasks in a professional tradesperson like manner.
- Ensure complete understanding and always adhere to Safety policies.
- Shop Duties including but not limited to; sash and screen repair, glass and metal fabrication, general sundry duties, machine operation (training required prior to ensure safety)
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Must be proficient with power cutting and drilling tools.
Provide professional, courteous service to customers and clients.
CERTIFICATES & LICENCES
Ability to appropriate and maintain the following:
A valid Ontario G Drivers License
Fall Arrest/Working at Heights Training
WHIMS Training
A Valid CPIC Security clearance
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job The ability to routinely lift and carry load ranging from 50 lbs to 150 lbs and greater loads as part of a group effort The ability to walk up and down multiple flights of stairs The ability to use various power tools The ability to work at various heights and on the exterior of multi-story buildings on scaffolding, ladders, suspended stage and powered lifts.
