Dig-It INC is looking for motivated, hard-working individuals to join our crew of installing Fibre Optic cable to the home. Working under the supervision of the supervisor and/or foreman, the labourer will be required to use a spade shovel to bury the Fibre Optic cable from the municipal side of the property to the side of the home, restoring the property back to the way it was found.

This job is paid by peace work, meaning that you get paid a certain amount depending on how many cables you instal during your shift.

Prior experience is preferred but not required - we will train the right candidates. We are urgently and immediately hiring for full time and part time positions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Burying Fibre Optic cable underground using a spade shovel
- Operating small gas and power tools (e.g. compaction jumping jacks, cut saws, air compressors and generators)
- Handle and distribute construction materials, loading and unloading personal vehicles with supplies and equipment.
- Must ensure that site is kept clean and all debris is removed before leaving.
- Ability to complete landscaping restoration work
- Ability to communicate with the public and homeowners in a professional manner
- Labourer will perform additional tasks as required by site supervisor/foreman
- Ability to work with a high-visibility vest on (one will be provided to you)
- Tools required will be provided to you for the day - they MUST be returned to supervisor/foreman before you leave site.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to bend and kneel for long periods of time
- Must have the dexterity to use hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers, wrenches, pliers, side cutters, etc)
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Ability to speak, read and write in English
- Capable of working independently and with others, in all weather conditions
- Must be punctual
- Must have access to own, reliable vehicle (vehicle must be insured)
- Must be available to work weekends
- Valid class G licence is preferred
- Previous experience is preferred, but is not required. Willing to train the right candidates.
- Must have CSA Approved steel toe safety boots
