The ideal candidate has 5-10 years of relevant and hands-on supervisory experience within the construction industry and is able to work effectively with all stakeholders (employees, contractors/sub-trades, suppliers, clients, owners).

DASD Contracting does exceptional work for the Institutional, Commercial, and Industrial sector. We pride ourselves on constructing/renovating Group Homes, schools, and churches, as well as car dealerships and retail environments.

The Site Supervisor is a self-starter and responsible for the day-to-day activities and safety at a project site. The Site Supervisor will be working on construction sites and supervise the constrution workers. S/He works closely with the Project Manager to ensure a project is completed on time and within budget. The Site Supervisor works 44 hours per week and requires a valid G Class License as well as a personal vehicle.

  • Regular hours from Monday to Friday (availability required between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm)

Responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling and coordinating sub-trades as per the project schedule
  • Conducting pre-construction inspections with the Project Manager to verify the project scope, budget, and schedule
  • Supervising and coordinating the tasks and activities of employees and contractors
  • Monitoring and enforcing site safety including OHSA compliance and DASD Contracting Inc.’s Health & Safety Program
  • Monitoring the schedule and reporting progress to the Project Manager
  • Ensuring quality control
  • Ordering materials and coordinating deliveries
  • Attending site meetings as required
  • Conducting pre-delivery inspections
  • General labour and assistance to the project

Required qualifications include:

  • 5-10 years of relevant and hands-on experience with ICI construction
  • 1+ years of site supervisory experience
  • Solid knowledge of commercial and institutional construction trades and specifications
  • Requires a valid G Class License as well as a personal vehicle
  • Well-versed with all applicable building codes
  • Able to understand and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Well-versed with the Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Familiarity with using an iPad is an asset
  • Able to quickly learn a new software with basic tech skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Demonstrated organizational and time-management skills
  • Able to effectively prioritize, delegate, and supervise work
  • Self-starter
  • Able to bend, push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs
