Primacare™ Living Solutions is a privately-held Canadian Long-Term Care Operator based in Toronto, Ontario and is a fully accredited member of both CARF and the OLTCA. We put people first by providing our residents with the highest standards in quality care and services and our staff with a supportive, flexible and progressive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of meals according to the posted menu ensuring that all standards are met.
• Overseeing and assisting with the serving of meals to residents ensuring resident food preferences are respected.
• Ensure that all dietary functions are performed in a clean, sanitary manner.
• Assist the Food and Nutrition Manager in control of food costs, waste, and ordering.
• Assist in the orientation and training of new dietary staff.
• Inspect for food supplies and determine what quantities of food should be reordered, communicating to the Food and Nutrition Manager.
• Ensure all MOHLTC and Public Health requirements are met.
• Contribute to a home environment for residents that ensures the values of Primacare Living Solutions are maintained and upheld.

Qualifications:

• Chef/Cook Certification from a recognized community college, preferably Red Seal
• Experience in a Long-Term Care Home or with seniors preferred
• Police background clearance for vulnerable persons sector (current, within 6 months, and original documents.
• Proof of full immunization against COVID-19, in accordance with the Ontario Ministry of Long-Term Care's Long-term care home COVID-19 immunization policy.

Skills:

• Cooperative team player
• Ability to speak, read and write English and to follow oral and written directions
• Understanding and empathy for the needs of seniors
