About This Opportunity

The Cost and Materials Accounting role is a key business partner with all relevant departments in the organization (including Procurement, Supply Chain Planning, Supply Chain and Commercial Finance, Master Data, Transportation) to ensure the integrity of standard costs for raw materials and full goods (produced and purchased), material master data and sourcing matrix information is accurately collected and submitted, and variances are reviewed.
This position plays an important role in collecting, analyzing, and reviewing the costings for new and existing products as well is a strong contributor in monthly forecasting, reporting, and annual business planning.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain standard costs related to Bill of Materials (BOM), sourcing matrix, marketing credits, activity rates, and purchased full goods for new and existing products as well as ensure accuracy of cost validations and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure accuracy and reconcile cost of goods sold in the different systems such as SAP, Anaplan, and sales reporting.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing functions that pertain to cost of goods sold and purchase price variances such as journal entries, forecasting, reporting, analysis, and account reconciliations while maintaining the integrity of the financial reporting process and financial controls.
  • Perform and provide volume/price/mix analysis, financial impact analysis, and change analysis of standard costs.
  • Participate in preparing the annual budget and ensure costing is updated timely and accurately.
  • Focus on continual process improvement and update standard procedures and policies documentation as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum two years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong SAP technical knowledge in MM (Materials Management), Product Costing, FI-CO (GL/AR/Inventory/AP), and CO-PA (Controlling - Profitability Analysis) is preferred.
  • Proficient in advanced Excel and Access functionality.
  • Excellent analytical approach with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to adjust workload and hours when necessary.
