As a member of the front store team, a Health Counselor is responsible for providing clients and customers with superior customer service, counseling, health care knowledge, product knowledge, merchandising, inventory control and maintaining the cleanliness of the front store.
Job Description – NutriChem Pharmacy Compounding Lab and Clinic
Title: NutriChem Pharmacy Front Store Health Counselor
Reports to: Front Store Manager and Director of Communications & Human Resources
Based at: NutriChem Pharmacy Compounding Lab and Clinic – 2599 Carling Ave, Ottawa ON
Duration: Full-Time Permanent Position
Hours: Availability of Monday to Saturday between 9am to 6:00pm, Saturday 9am to 5pm for a total of 37.5 hours a week
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
As a Front Store Health Counselor, your responsibilities include but are not limited to the duties outlined below:
- Superior customer service is key and ensuring that every customer is receiving immediate attention and greeting of offer of assistance
- Complete “opening” and “closing” daily duties assigned
- Section upkeep duties including: facing products, checking expiration dates, inventory counting and product ordering when required
- Use of a POS system and processing customer transactions
- Ensure that customers are signing up for NutriChem’s Customer Loyalty Program
- Using health knowledge to assist customers about the use of products
- Strong product knowledge and ensuring that educate self on all the product lines that NutriChem carries
- Offering and following up on customer’s special orders on a consistent basis
- Promotion of NutriChem products and Personalized Health Solution services
- Knowledge about how the Body Chemistry Balancing (BCB) works and custom vitamins that NutriChem compounds on site
- Cleaning and organization of the front store and other cleaning duties elsewhere in the store as assigned
- Prompt answering of phone inquiries and following up with phone inquiries
- Working together as a team player with other NutriChem departments and Personalized Health Solutions clinics
- Special projects that are assigned
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Preference given to backgrounds in nutrition, alternative medicine, fitness, homeopathy and naturopathic medicine
- Knowledge and passion for health and the desire to promote health and wellness through mediums of supplements, herbs, homeopathy, as well as proper nutrition.
- Minimum one year work experience working in health related retail setting
- Excellent customer service skills and passion
- Knowledge and use of a POS (point-of-sale) system
- Ability to be a team player with a diverse team of Health Counselors and other departments
- Ability to take direction and a desire to innovate and work towards a common goal
- Open to receiving feedback with a willingness to learn and learn from experiences
- Excellent decision making and problem solving skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in an ever changing and evolving environment
- Computer skills required
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time, bending and stooping to grasp objects, climb ladders, bending and lifting loads as required
