Customer Service Representative Job at Bison Transport

We want you to join Bison’s Customer Service team and join us in our commitment to safety, reliability and exceptional customer service ensuring on-time pickup and delivery of shipments.
With your exceptional coordination skills, you will be responsible for dealing with the day-to-day coordination of freight and truck movement in a particular region. You will get the opportunity to build relationships with your assigned customer contacts and execute the detailed and administrative work. Customer Service Representatives expand their computer competency by learning new programs and systems applications, along with a working knowledge of the industry and Bison's network. You will become fluent in trucking terminology and become an expert of North American geography.
As a member of the Customer Service team, you will be responsible for:
  • Connecting with your customers to enter their designated orders for the assigned region, confirming all details are updated and the orders are complete for dispatch with all necessary information.
  • Staying in touch with the customers to update the status of shipments as requested, producing, and distributing regular reports for selected accounts.
  • Ensuring shipping and delivery appointments are secured and updated in the system with a prescribed lead time.
  • Building relationships with shippers and consignees in order to manage appointment scheduling that meets the needs of the customer, as well as Bison’s operation.
  • Supporting our customers, by answering all inquiries off the general queue in a professional and efficient manner.
You’ll gain lots of experience in this role, but before you do, you should have:
  • Prior Transportation, and/or Logistics experience is an asset, but not a must
  • Sound analytical and critical thinking skills
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-pace, deadline-oriented environment
  • Strong ability to adapt to varying situations
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to multitask, manage multiple accounts, competing priorities and meet timelines
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team
  • High attention to detail and accuracy integrity with data collection and order entry
