Responsibilities:

· Assisting the DDS and Hygienist to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including pediatric, periodontic, oral surgery, prosthodontic, endodontic and orthodontic dentistry.

· Serving as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment as well as conducting spore/biological indicator tests

· Asking about the patient’s medical history and taking blood pressure

· Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment

· Taking and developing dental radiographs

· Taking impressions of patients’ teeth for study models - Level 2 DA'

· Mechanical polishing of the coronal portion of teeth - Level 2 DA

· Pit and fissure sealants - Level 2 DA

· Placement and removal of rubber dams - Level 2 DA

· Topical application of anti-cariogenic agents, topical anesthetics, desensitizing agents and whitening of the coronal portion of the teeth - Level 2 DA

· Dietary counseling relative to dentistry

· Providing oral hygiene instruction

· Recording data on patients’ record or chart as directed by the DDS

· Monitor inventory of dental supplies

· Performing office management tasks that often require the use of a computer

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
