The Opportunity

Stewart McKelvey is currently recruiting for a Department Administrative Assistant to support the firm's Human Resources (HR) and Professional Resources & Development (PRD) teams.

Based out of our Halifax, NS office, the Department Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support for a number of the firm's HR & PRD processes for both staff and lawyers/law students/clerks. In particular, the successful candidate will assist with tasks related to recruitment & onboarding, engagement & recognition initiatives, continuing education programs, and event planning.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for a number of general administrative tasks including, but not limited to, preparing expense vouchers, reconciling expense reports, organizing meetings, file management, coordinating travel/accommodations for lawyers and managers, administering/maintaining various office-wide and firm-wide programs & systems, and various other duties as assigned.

If you are an organized and process-oriented administrative professional, with a high level of attention to detail, strong multitasking skills, the ability to prioritize tasks from various work providers, and enjoy working with others, we want to hear from you! Experience working in a professional services setting would be considered an asset.
