BMO is hiring an Operations Wealth Leader to manage a large portfolio of up to 250 wealth operations professionals focused on elevating our client-focused Account Services function, while championing our commitment to Boldly Grow the Good in business and life.

In this senior-level Director role, you would provide support and service for the Investment/Wealth Operations function of BMO’s business stakeholders and customers, while delivering world-class investment product and service processes, ensuring adherence with financial and regulatory controls and operational guidelines.

  • Fostering a culture aligned to BMO's purpose, values and strategy while role modelling BMO values and behaviours
  • Ensuring alignment between values and behaviour that fosters diversity and inclusion.
  • Regularly connects work to BMO’s purpose, sets inspirational goals, defines clear expected outcomes, and ensures clear accountability for follow through.
  • Improves team performance, recognizes and rewards performance, coaches employees, supports their development, and manages underperformance.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to senior leaders for making business decisions and implementing strategic initiatives and manages internal/external stakeholder relationships, which may include regulators
  • Networks with industry contacts to gather competitive insights and best practices.
  • Recommends business priorities, advises on resource requirements and develops roadmap for strategic execution.
  • Develops the business case by identifying needs, analysing potential options, and assessing expected return on investment.
  • Defines business requirements for analytics and reporting to ensure data insights inform business decision making.
  • Leads change management programs of varying scope and type, including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.
  • Leads the development of the communication strategy focusing on positively influencing or changing behaviour.
  • Collaborates across BMO to develop communications strategies and ensure consistency of messaging, in order to positively influence or change behaviour.
  • Maintains effective resourcing levels and allocates resources.
  • Ensures effective operational risk mitigation infrastructure, standards, and processes are in place.
  • Provides accurate and timely processing of transactions, activities, services, etc. to respond to stakeholder requests in compliance with regulatory and risk controls.
  • Follows documented policies and procedures to execute day-to-day transactions, activities, processes and meet all Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Qualifications:

  • Typically 9+ years of relevant experience in Wealth Operations/Investment Operations
  • Demonstrated Operations Leadership experience mentoring, coaching members at all career levels
  • Knowledge and experience using relevant systems and technology – Expert.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the business unit’s key products and services, processes and controls – Expert.
  • Knowledge of the risk and regulatory requirements of the business – Expert.
  • Customer service skills – Expert.
  • PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) – Expert.
  • Seasoned expert with extensive industry knowledge.
  • Technical leader viewed as a thought leader for innovation.
  • Influence skills - Expert.
  • Data driven decision making - Expert.
