In January 2023, two Credit Unions, formerly East Kootenay Community Credit Union and Heritage Credit Union, merged together to create StellerVista Credit Union. Our members overwhelmingly voted in support of this merger as a single entity representing seven communities: Greenwood, Castlegar, Slocan Park, Cranbrook, Fernie, Sparwood, and Elkford.

Position Overview:

The Director, Information Technology, provides strategic direction, governance, and operational leadership to the information technology function to ensure accessibility, reliability, and security across all business channels. This role also leads the data collection, analysis, and distribution functions for the credit union. The incumbent participates as a member of the senior management team and contributes to the overall growth culture and execution of the credit union’s business strategies and goals.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, MBA preferred.
  • 5 – 7 years’ related IT experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership capacity in a similar environment
OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Demonstrated ability to develop IT strategies and translate into tactical plans.
  • Solid knowledge of ERM practices as they apply to protection and security of corporate systems and data.
  • Strong focus on service delivery and results orientation
  • Clear understanding of change leadership and the ability to promote and support technology change and adoption.
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication skills with the ability to make technical information understandable.
  • Solid understanding of applicable regulatory, legislative controls and governance procedures
  • Experience leading in a unionized environment is preferred.

Job Location – Kootenay Region - Cranbrook, B.C.
