The Bridge Church in North Vancouver is seeking a Director of Student Ministries who will contribute to God’s ongoing Kingdom work in and through us. We are a growing, multi-generational, multi-ethnic congregation in the Deep Cove area of North Vancouver. Our vision as a church is that we live to know Jesus Christ personally and to make him known. Our hope is that our new Director will especially equip our teens and pre-teens to live into this vision!

Overview

The Director of Student Ministries is a full-time position with a competitive salary (commensurate with experience and education) and benefits. Responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing Cove Youth, our Grades 8-12 ministry, including planning and leading regular events and Bible studies, leading a team of volunteer leaders, facilitating a sense of spiritual community among the teens, and connecting individually with teens
  • Overseeing Jr. Cove, our Grade 5-7 ministry, including planning and leading regular events and Bible studies, leading a team of volunteer leaders, facilitating a sense of spiritual community among the pre-teens, and connecting individually with pre-teens
  • Co-ordinate weekly Sunday school for pre-teens throughout the year (may involve some teaching, as well as equipping volunteer teachers)
  • Be a first point of contact for newcomers to The Bridge with teens and pre-teens
  • Participating as a member of The Bridge Church staff team in weekly meetings

Qualifications

The Director of Student Ministries will:

  • Personally resonate with the The Bridge Church’s vision as their own: to know Jesus Christ personally and to make him known
  • Be someone who loves the Lord and affirms the statement of faith of The Bridge Church. They will be a member of The Bridge Church or be willing to become a member
  • Love teens and pre-teens and connects well with them
  • Be energetic
  • Be a capable and engaging teacher
  • Have a humble and teachable personality
  • Have administrative and organizational skills
  • Any previous experience in pre-teen or teen ministry would be considered an asset
  • Any theological education would also be considered an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
