Heather Lodge is looking for a dedicated, organized team member to successfully perform the duties of a Dishwasher in both full time (May-October) and part-time (July-Sept) positions. Our successful candidate will be able to manger their responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced culinary environment. The Dishwasher’s duties include: thoroughly washing soiled plates, flat ware and other dishes. They may also: restock items, unload delivery trucks, help prepare cook stations, wash, peel, slice, trim and grate fruits and vegetables. In conjunction with cleaning appliances and machines, empty and clean trash receptacles. The successful candidate will ensure ingredients are stored and rotated effectively to optimize freshness and ensure stock is always filled.

To be successful, you should be a committed, communicative team player with excellent time management skills. You should be able to prioritize tasks in a busy setting and adhere to all food safety regulations and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

• Dishwasher Responsibilities: Cleaning machines and appliances used in the kitchen, such as coffee makers, pots, and pans, mixers, etc. Unloading and storing deliveries. Sweeping and mopping floors Taking out the trash and rinsing garbage cans. Supporting other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks, as needed. Reporting kitchen accidents or violations of food safety codes and procedures.

Heather Lodge is all about a history since 1942, originally known as the Ellen Cliff Lodge when it first opened in the Haliburton Highlands in (we believe) 1942 (although we have been told it could possibly be older). For over 60 years, Heather lodge has offered couples of all ages a rejuvenating escape from the stresses of life. Over the years, the beauty of the Haliburton Highlands has not changed. The breathtaking views of scenic Twelve Mile Lake remain the same. Like any history, there is some gaps that we are trying to fill, but we have met many of its previous owners and have information that the lodge was also called Valley High as well at one time. The most recent owners were Bert and Conny Van Doggenaar. This couple from the Neatherlands have invested in the property they fell in love with, and renovated from top to bottom while still maintaining many highlights of the original. This includes the wall panelling and floor in the dining room. The feel of the lodge is much the same, which offers a warm experience to our guests. This provides Innkeepers that reside in a property situated on five acres of manicured grounds the opportunity to cater to couples for romantic escapes.
