Nova Hotels is a Canadian, family owned and operated hotel chain and management company based in Western Canada. Nova has 15 full and limited service hotels across Alberta, Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories. Nova Hotels started its’ business in Yellowknife in 2000 and has had over 32 hotels and operate 6 different brands in the last 21 years of business, making us one of the larger independent hotel chains in Western Canada. Primary Function

The Dishwasher is responsible is responsible for supporting the kitchen and outlets by ensuring the dishware, glassware, silverware, pots and pans are washed in a timely and efficient manner. Ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness are demonstrated at all times

This is a full-time position that includes days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

• Follows all established and future Standard Operating Procedures.
• Maintains the predetermined supply of clean dishes, glassware, silver, etc., for all outlets
• Operates the dish machine according to manufacturer’s requirements and Nova standards.
• Places bus pans in cook's line and clears dirty dishes as needed.
• Keeps cook line well stocked with china/hot plates.
• Keeps glassware organized at all times, storing dishware in the proper locations.
• Polishes all silver as needed.
• Assists in the breakdown of banquet functions and washes dishes of the functions.
• Maintains a clean kitchen environment by assisting kitchen personnel in following standard cleaning practices.
• Sweeps and mops the entire kitchen floor and dish room.
• Washes all food counters and shelves.
• Washes mats with bleach after each use.
• Monitors trash levels in all cans and removes when needed, including recyclables.
• Monitors dish machine soap, chemical and polish levels and ensures it is operating according to standard. Reports any concerns to Supervisor..
• Reports all concerns related to Maintenance, Health and Safety, Security or Suspicious circumstances (including smells/sights and sound) immediately to the Supervisor.
• Adheres to all Nova standards, including Hygiene and Grooming, Health and Safety, Fire Safety, Key Deliverables and Guest Interactions.
• Other projects/duties as assigned.
