Driver, Transport Job at OPENLANE
ADESA Ottawa (located in Vars) is currently looking for casual drivers for our transport department. If you like a fast-paced work environment, have a clean driving record, we would love to hear from you!
SUMMARY:
The driver in the transport department is responsible to deliver and pick up vehicles.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Drive vehicles to and from designated areas, as well as pick up and deliver vehicles while observing auction driving rules, rules of the road and demonstrating courteous and defensive driving principles.
- Represent the auction in a professional and efficient manner while providing excellent customer service.
- Must be safety conscious and ensure that vehicle is road-worthy by checking tires, fuel, lights, signals & brakes.
- Immediately report to Transportation Manager anything that occurs which may potentially jeopardize the ability to operate a motor vehicle physically or legally.
- Report all incidents properly and immediately to the Manager or Supervisor.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to read English and comprehend motor vehicle traffic signs.
- Driver abstract required
- Computer skills are required
- Ability to drive both standard and automatic vehicles
- Ability to drive in different weather conditions
- Must be a reliable team player
