Eco-Log Homes is a customized log home kit production business, which utilizes the Hemlock timber produced within Haliburton Forest. For more than 25 years, we have provided clients with small cabins, full-sized cottages, and everything in between. This business was created to fulfill our ethical and economic obligation to add value to the wood that we harvest from our forest.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the EcoLog Manager, the technician will work with the Production Supervisor to fulfill daily production responsibilities which includes maintaining a safe/clean working environment, following production schedules and deadlines and other tasks to ensure smooth production.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs all tasks in accordance with established safe work practices and standards, operating procedures, etc.
  • Cut boards to desired measurements in order to fill orders
  • Stack Lumber
  • Contribute to day-to-day production/operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in working with wood and wood products
  • Good aptitude for machinery and woodworking tools such as; power tools, chain saws, etc.
  • Interest in log homes or value-added forest products
  • Ability to lift heavy loads for extended periods, all day
  • Physically fit and thrives working outdoors
  • Ability to work on one’s feet all day in a range of weather conditions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Strong work ethic
  • Willingness to learn
  • Self-motivated with strong problem solving and organizational skills
  • Flexibility to work overtime as required
  • Knowledge of construction, buildings, and woodworking an asset

COMPENSATION, BENEFITS & PERKS

  • Two weeks of paid vacation with flexibility

TRAVEL:

This position may require limited travel within the region.
