What you will do:

Recruitment

• Supports the hotel’s focus on service excellence by interviewing and recruiting people with the competencies and profile to provide exceptional service to the hotel’s guests.
• Screen and initial interview with applicants for various vacancies
• Conducts all orientation sessions with new employees. Assist with the onboarding process.
• Assist with Staff Housing/Accommodations including check in, check outs.and move out inspections
• Conduct random room inspections of each Staff Accommodations to ensure no damage or smoking in units.

Employee Engagement

• Assists in ensuring that Employee Experience aligns with Hyatt’s Purpose and Care. Maintain employee activities at all stages.
• Assist with planning, organizing, executing and participating in all employee events (i.e. Staff BBQ, Hiking Trips, Yoga, etc.)
• Assist with setting up, planning and slides for Town Hall meetings.

Administration

• Assists in the administration of internal transfers.
• Assists with application for provincial Training Grants.
• Filing and upkeeping of all private and confidential matters related to the department.
• Assists in ensuring that the hotel is adhering to all Company/Hotel Human Resources Policies and Procedures.
• Assists in making sure that the necessary Human Resources forms are forwarded to the Divisional/Regional Human Resources Specialists as requested

Personnel

• Ensures that all employees are treated fairly and consistently as outlined in their terms and conditions of employment, local legislation, and company/hotel policies and procedures.
• Ensures a strong professional relationship with all levels of employees within the hotel, taking an active interest in their welfare, safety and development.
• Assists in the feedback on the results of the Employee Engagement Survey and ensure that the relevant changes are implemented.

Other Duties

• Exercises responsible behaviour at all times and positively representing the hotel and Hyatt International
• Attends training sessions and meetings as and when required.
• Carries out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary education preferred but not required.
• Ability to demonstrate empathy and care for all employees, at all times.
• Exceptional Emotional Intelligence.
• Ability to confidentially work under flexibly including some evenings
• Full Driver’s license and access to vehicle.
• Exceptional Organizational and Multi-tasking abilities.
• Superior communication skills, able to interact with people tactful, diplomatically and sensitively.
