The Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources is seeking an innovative and self-motivated Engineer to join the Information Management Branch in Regina.

Reporting to the Manager, you will be responsible for performing engineering analyses and evaluations of energy sector data submitted by the petroleum industry, to ensure compliance with conservation, environmental and reporting regulations, policies and directives. You will develop and implement procedures to track Saskatchewan crude oil production from the wellhead to the refinery, in order to validate and balance crude oil production and sales. You will also procure, interpret and analyze sales contracts, production tests, engineering reports and other tests and data in order to verify reported data, and provide technical advice regarding the procedures and equipment used to measure and meter oil, natural gas and other substances.

The successful candidate will be an innovative problem solver who is thorough, attentive to detail, and has excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The successful candidate will possess a degree in engineering from an accredited university and be eligible for registration in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS).
