Key Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with Senior Engineers and Designers to complete design and drafting on projects
  • Work within a team of engineers, technologists and designers to complete projects and grow your skills in the Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Structural field
  • Design of electrical, mechanical, civil or structural systems and components in both 2D and 3D CAD
  • Perform analysis, design, and model of industrial systems in your respective discipline.
  • Providing conceptual front end design to full detailed design and material take-offs for industrial and mining facilities
  • Establishing and maintaining the interface with 3D models and referencing 2D backgrounds from model
  • Ensure that elements of design, modelling, and detailing adhere to relevant jurisdictional codes
  • Gain knowledge and understanding of local codes (e.g. CEC, NBC, IEEE, NFPA, CSA, etc.)

Skills / Qualifications:
  • Enrolled in a Engineering Technology or Engineering Design and Drafting program in Saskatchewan
  • Understanding of engineering design, engineering fundamentals, and principles.
  • Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with 2D AutoCAD and working knowledge of 3D Design / Drafting
  • Knowledge of Excel and MS Office
  • Authorization to work lawfully in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
  • This is a student position lasting up to 4, 8, or 12 months. The duration will be determined based on student preference and business need.
  • Candidate must live within reasonable commuting distance from Saskatoon, SK office or be willing to relocate and live in Saskatoon area at own expense
