About The PCN

The Aspen Primary Care Network (PCN) first became operational in 2010, serving three communities. Since then, we have grown to include partnership between family physicians in Athabasca, Westlock, Barrhead, Swan Hills, Kinuso, High Prairie and Wabasca, Alberta. In total, the PCN has 43 participating physicians serving approximately 30,000 residents within our region.

Our priorities are to facilitate health promotion and disease prevention, and to enable successful self-management of chronic diseases and conditions.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and confident individual who can work independently in a fast-paced environment. The Executive Assistant will report directly to the Aspen/Wood Buffalo Executive Director. The Executive Assistant works as a member of the joint management team, providing administrative assistance and support to the Executive Director and Boards of Directors for both Aspen PCN and Wood Buffalo PCN. The position will also provide support to the North Zone Health Neighborhoods. The Executive Assistant will be responsible for the overall organization and smooth operations of the companies.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Must have excellent organizational, communication and time-management skills. Must have professional and confident phone manners, in-person reception and host abilities
  • Must be able to perform duties with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Human resource and payroll experience is desirable
  • Experience dealing with confidential information is mandatory
  • Advanced knowledge, skill and proficiency with Windows 10 and Microsoft 365 required
  • Must be able to create professional meeting agendas, minutes, and reports that are congruent with pre-existing templates and branding standards
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and MS Outlook; must be adept at managing multiple calendars and extensive contact lists
  • Proven ability to maintain composure and decorum when communicating with local politicians, doctors, and high-ranking executives
Qualifications
  • A minimum of five (5) years related EA experience reporting to a senior leader in a medical office setting is required
  • High School diploma
  • Completion of a post-secondary Office Administration Certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Candidates with a comparable combination of education and experience will also be considered

  • Completion of reference checks
  • Must have valid driver’s license and own vehicle
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
