Catholic Social Services is currently seeking a full time, 40 hours per week, Family Aide Worker in EDMONTON to join our Collaborative Service Delivery Framework team. Providing excellent client-centered care, you are confident, thoughtful, and motivated to achieve success when supporting others in your community!

This position works 40 hours per week with flexibility on evenings and weekends required. The contract would end on March 31, 2024.

Program Overview:

The Collaborative Service Delivery Framework Program provides high quality supports to children and families directly involved with Children and Youth Services. This position requires workers to teach parenting and communication skills, as well as support and transport children to family visitations.

Job Summary:

As a Family Aide Worker, you will be responsible for:

  • You are self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable working both independently and part of a service team.
  • As part of this position there are components of working with families and parent were they are at including:
    • Assisting the family with cleaning, shopping, cooking and navigating the different systems in the community
  • Assisting Aboriginal families in accessing elders and traditional knowledge keepers and other community resources
  • Maintain a current and comprehensive awareness of applicable community resources to meet client’s specific needs and advocate for clients when appropriate
  • You are passionate and dedicated to helping families reach their fullest potential by empowering parents and children to seek and foster meaningful relationships and emotional bonds

Education and Qualifications:

  • A diploma/degree in Human Services (or equivalent)
  • A minimum one to two (1-2) years of related experience including knowledge of community resources and family intervention
  • In-home family support experience is preferred and knowledge of addictions and mental health issues would be an asset
  • You are organized and excel in time management and have proficient computer skills
  • Strong relationship building and leadership skills
  • A Valid class 5 Driver’s License and vehicle that enables you to safely transport clients and children in the back seat (Child safety seats will be provided) is required
  • Driver's Abstract with less than six (6) demerit points current within one (1) year
  • Police Information Check including vulnerable sector search and Children's Service Intervention Record Check must be current within six (6) months
  • A reliable Vehicle, Valid Driver’s License, Vehicle Registration and Third Party Liability Insurance (amount of two million)
  • Police Information Check including vulnerable sector search, and Intervention Record Check current within six (6) months
  • Summary of driving record with no more than six (6) demerit points current within one (1) year.

Police Information Check including vulnerable sector search, Intervention Record Check and/ or summary of driving record are conditions of employment and the financial responsibility of the candidate.
