The Chimo Family Wellness program is delivered in partnership between Chimo Youth Retreat and the Edmonton Region Child and Family Services. Using the Collaborative Service Delivery (CSD) model, the program provides a continuum of services to improve the outcomes for children, youth and families in Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan and Leduc County. The Family Wellness Coach builds and maintains safe, positive relationships with families, works cooperatively as part of the CSD team, works directly in the homes of families with CS involvement, and completes all required administration functions.

The Family Wellness Cooch will be responsible for providing the following services:

  • In vivo family/parent support
  • Second-line family stabilization, intervention, preservation
  • Drive services and supported access
  • Therapeutic youth work
  • Low ratio crisis intervention services
  • All other duties as required to support a family to thrive and achieve healthy lifestyle
  • Build positive relationships and work collaboratively with families, CS staff and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain effective cross-functional relationships with staff, colleagues, and partners.
  • Work effectively with all Chimo Family Wellness staff and leadership.
  • Family reunification/unity.
  • Coordination of additional services to support great outcomes for families.
  • Advocacy for the child, youth and family services that ultimately support the reunification, unity or permanency of the family.
  • Possess knowledge of community resources that support families.

The successful candidate will possess and demonstrate:

  • Critical thinking and creative problem solving as a means to provide high-quality services.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong facilitation, organizational and time management skills.
  • Understanding of life span developmental theories, Foundations of Caregiver Support, Signs of Safety, Appreciative Inquiry, Peacemaking Circles, Trauma Informed/Resiliency Focused Practices and Life Long Connections.

Education and Credentials;

  • Degree in the Human Services field (Child & Youth Care, Social Work, etc.) is preferred but those with a diploma and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of one-year of experience in a front-line role within Human Services.

EMPLOYMEMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as a Driver (minimum 3 years history)
  • A valid driver’s license
  • A clean driving record
  • 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccination

All employees must provide a valid driver's abstract, which is subject for fleet insurance approval. Driving record must be report free.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $48,200.00-$49,900.00 per year
