Chernoff Thompson Architects, a downtown Vancouver architectural firm, requires a part time Filing Assistant to join our team. This is an in office, part time position (20 hours per week) between the hours of 8:30am and 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.
There is some flexibility in terms of working days/hours and these can be discussed if selected for interview.

The role of the Filing Assistant is to:

  • File physical documents, including letters, reports, technical files, and architectural drawings.
  • Archive all project correspondence, drawings, proposals, and project material.
  • Retrieve files and drawings from off-site storage when requested and return them to off-site.
  • Maintain and update electronic filing system (e-file).
  • Upkeep of archived items in the storage areas.
  • Minor clerical work, typing, and data-entry.
  • General office upkeep and tidiness.
  • Reception relief (illness/vacation).
  • Other duties as required by partners and/or senior staff.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • High School completion
  • Strong English language and communication skills.
  • Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift file boxes (20+ lbs) on a regular basis.
  • Friendly and personable attitude.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (2010 or higher).
  • Typing skills of min. 45/wpm+ with accuracy.

Please note we’re not looking for a candidate with architectural experience. This position is administrative in nature.

Starting salary will be in the range of $15.65/ hour to $17.50/hour (based on experience).
