Summary:
Under the direction of the Financial Controller, the Finance Clerk is responsible for Accounts Payable and Receivable functions; calculating, preparing and processing invoices, bills, collections, all other accounts payable and receivables, as well as other financial records according to established procedures.

Key Focuses:
  • Calculate, prepare and issue documents related to accounts such as invoices, inventory reports, account statements and other financial statements using computerized and manual systems
  • Code, enter, verify and reconcile transactions such as accounts payable invoices, customer invoices, purchase orders, cheque requisitions
  • Prepare payment files for vendors as required.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, maintain good customer relations and solve problems
  • Perform related clerical duties, such as word processing, excel, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing and photocopying
  • Prepare and enter invoices into the accounting system per policy and established procedures
  • Prepare invoices as per client contract requirements
  • Reconcile and collect outstanding accounts on a timely basis
  • Create and post deposits
  • Maintain AP and AR accounts in Business by Design software.
  • Prepare and send customer statements as required.
  • Respond to customer and vendor inquiries
  • Maintain good customer and vendor relations and solve problems
  • Other duties as required
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
  • Grade twelve (12) Diploma required
  • Completion of University or College Accounting Administration Program is considered an asset
  • Three to five (3-5) years of accounts payable and five plus (5+) accounts receivable experience is required
  • Strong analytical skills are required
  • Exceptional initiative and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently as required
  • Must be bondable
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft office suite applications
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
This is full-time position located in Fort McMurray, AB.
Work Schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day.
