When deadlines and requests seem to be flying all over the place, your ability to organize and prioritize keeps you focused on delivering results. You know how to get to the point with concise communications, and you draft reports and support financial analysis tasks with pinpoint precision. Your skillset and expertise make you a great fit for our Financial Accounting Assistant role supporting our Aiken Creek Gas Storage Facility. In this role, you will:
Maintain and balance Accounts Payable functions module of SAP including: receiving invoices, payment requisitions and interface files and related documentation and approving the requested invoices including: reviewing all documentation for accuracy and appropriate approvals;
review for compliance with various tax laws;
appropriate supporting documentation; and,
maintaining and processing recurring invoice requirements.
Apply basic accounting principles as well as knowledge of internal accounting procedures and practices to accurately assess information and determine required action to be taken in resolving relevant problems and generating desired results.
Be responsible for month-end functions including month end accruals, account reconciliations and reporting.
Provide additional financial support activities as requested by management including audits, payroll and reconciliation of accounts.

What it takes:
Two to three years experience in accounting at an intermediate level including at least one (1) year with an emphasis on financial analysis.
Preference will be for applicants who have completed a certificate in accounting or finance from a recognized post secondary institution.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Ability to independently plan, prioritize and coordinate a diverse set of activities to consistently meet targets in an environment that includes changing priorities, time demands and frequent interruptions.
Ability to write concise, clear and grammatically correct communications (letter, memorandums, summaries, etc.) and present them in a professional and diplomatic manner.
Knowledge of ERP accounting systems (preferably SAP).
Intermediate level knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute. What you need to know:
