The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Transportation, Fleet & Facilities Manager to join our team to be the subject matter expert on Transportation, Fleet & Facilities and providing overall leadership to the Infrastructure & Utilities team, including short and long term planning, daily operations, and managing physical financial and human resources. Reporting to the Operations & Utilities Director, the Transportation, Fleet & Facilities Manager is responsible for:

  • Working closely with the Director of Operations & Utilities to establish priorities, objectives, and goals.
  • Providing direction to Transportation, Transit & Fleet, and Facilities Team Leaders and oversee recruitment, orientation and performance management of the Transportation, Fleet and Facilities Business Center team.
  • Develop, monitor and maintain operating policies and procedures for all work including ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulation.
  • Ensure work services are being carried out in a customer focused manner and budget requirements are met.
  • Providing leadership in terms of Occupational Health & Safety, Training and Development, and exemplifying and promoting the Town’s Core values.
  • Demonstrating leadership in adapting to innovative work environments and ensuring employees are aware of organizational initiatives and decisions.
  • Responding to requests from internal and external customers.

What You Bring:

  • To be successful in this position you must possess:
  • Completion of a related degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Business Management or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.
  • Additional education in leadership programs will be considered an asset.
  • 8 or more years of related work experience representing continuous learning and career progression, including at least 4 years of direct supervision and leading a team.
  • Eligible APWA Supervisor or Management certification may be considered an asset. .
  • Membership with APEGA or ASET may be considered an asset.
