**JOIN CHEF ANTONIO PARK’S NEW RESTAURANT OPENING**

Renowned Chef Antonio Park and Scale Hospitality are seeking passionate, experienced back of house team members to be a part of the most exciting, new hospitality openings of the year. As featured in the New York Times, the much-anticipated AP restaurant will launch this Fall atop the Manulife Centre. This ultra luxurious dining & lounge concept will boast one of the greatest skyline views in the city, as well as not one but two spectacular terraces overlooking downtown Toronto.

We are looking for energetic FOOD RUNNER to liaise between the kitchen staff, front-of-house team, and the restaurant’s guests. The primary role of a FOOD RUNNER is to direct a smooth and efficient workflow between the kitchen and the guests.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acting as the primary contact between the front-of-the house and back-of-house staff
  • Ensure orders are being prepared with the correct priority
  • Assist in the final garnishing of dishes
  • Check dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperature, ensuring order is complete before food goes out to the table
  • Deliver orders to maintain fast service
  • Inspect the premises according to quality and sanitation standards and assist in cleaning as required
  • Transfer important information between the kitchen and the wait staff (e.g. when a customer has a particular request)
  • Support other tasks as needed

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years’ experience as food expeditor or other restaurant position
  • High school diploma; Higher degree in hospitality, or relevant field, is an asset
  • Excellent food knowledge and understanding of cooking terms/methods
  • Skills to coordinate and organize processes and people
  • Ability to lead and direct people
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Acute memory to remember small details to relay the right message and respond accordingly
  • Outstanding coordination and multi-tasking abilities
  • A customer-oriented approach
  • Ability to stay calm when handling a difficult situation / guest
  • Dexterity in using kitchen equipment or utensils and carrying heavy trays
  • Great physical endurance and stamina to be in constant motion
